Families seperated by war
Tracing the family of one deceased gentleman led to uncover the tragic undercurrents from WW2... The parents were killed during WW2 by a direct hit on the home they shared with their 10 children. 2 of the 8 children, including a son who was on home leave from the Navy died with their parents. The remaining siblings were split up and cared for by Dr Barnardos or the local convent. Most of the family had no contact until adulthood, but circumstances led to quarrels and disputes and once again they split - ending contact forever. One determined family member traced each sibling of his mother and detailed everything in a book. Each family member was traced - some were co-operative, some not - The only family member that couldn't be traced was the deceased, sadly he never had the family life he probably should have - the war put paid to this. This case is a sad reminder that the ripples from WW2 are still felt in families today.

My Story
I have the utmost desire to trace lost loved ones and reunite people and for 10 yrs, for friends - that is what I have been doing. But recently I wondered about the 'Heir hunting' thing - could I do this? How would it feel to reunite the right family with money to which they are entitled. And so began my story which I will put out there for you all to read. It's a very addictive thing to trace ancestors and learn about where you come from, and even more addicitve is when those names and numbers on indexes become human lives and you hear the stories as told by the families - so here I begin my blog - welcome aboard the emotional rollacoaster that is family tracing...
